Afro-Centric Network was founded in August 1996, as a way for the founder, Margaret Andega, to educate her American counterparts on her homeland. Frustrated with the lack places here in Atlanta to buy authentic African clothing and jewelry, she created her own shop in the heart of the Historic West End to fill the cultural void.
